Ecommerce order processing: SOP template
Purpose: process every order the same way so nothing ships late or wrong. Scope: standard orders in [Shopify / WooCommerce / your store]. Record your real store screens over these steps for a perfect training guide.
New order

Open the order and check payment status is Paid (not Pending)

Verify the shipping address looks complete [flag PO boxes / remote areas]

Check stock for every line item
Fulfil
- 4
Pick and pack the items; add [inserts / invoice] to the parcel
- 5
Buy and print the shipping label; weigh the parcel
- 6
Mark the order fulfilled with the tracking number so the customer is notified
Exceptions

Out of stock, address problem, or suspected fraud → move the order to [on-hold] and message the customer within [2 hours]
Never fulfil a flagged-fraud order without [owner]'s approval.
