How to create an SOP in 5 minutes with Dyzo Owl

Step-by-step: install the extension, record a workflow, edit in the side panel, and share a clean SOP as a link or PDF.

Before you start

You'll need a free account at owl.dyzo.ai and the Dyzo Owl Chrome extension. If you haven't yet, read What is an SOP tool? first.

Step 1 — Open the side panel

Click the Dyzo Owl icon in Chrome's toolbar. The side panel slides out from the right and stays open while you work.

Step 2 — Log in (once)

Hit Log in to Dyzo Owl. A tab opens at owl.dyzo.ai; sign in and come back — the panel is connected. No tokens or copy-paste.

Step 3 — Record

Press Start recording and do your task as you normally would. Every click becomes a step with a screenshot and a marker showing where you clicked. Move across tabs or websites freely — it's all one guide. Password fields are auto-blurred.

Step 4 — Review & edit

Hit Stop & review. Tidy up the captions, reorder steps with ↑/↓, delete the noisy ones. Then click Save guide — it opens in the web editor.

Step 5 — Annotate, share, export

In the editor you can draw arrows, boxes, and blur sensitive data. Click Copy share link to publish (Loom-style) or export to PDF / HTML / Markdown. More on sharing: Share an SOP with your team.

Tips for great SOPs

  • Run the task slowly. A second between clicks gives a cleaner screenshot.
  • Rename generic captions. "Click on the page" becomes "Click the green Save button" with one edit.
  • Use Blur for any internal data. Drag-blur over emails, names, or revenue figures.
  • One workflow per SOP. If it covers two unrelated tasks, split them.
